Static Analysis of a Service Pit for Rail Vehicles
Analysis: FEA, Static Analyis, Linear Buckling, ANSYS
Objective: For a load bearing capacity and serviceability assessment a detail static analysis of a service pit for rail vehicles was performed. The service pit is made of steel cassette placed on foundation slab. Steel cassette supports rails and rail fastenings and carries loads from suspended pit lift and earth pressure. For an assessment of the service pit 3D FE-model consisting of all necessary part of the steel cassette was created.
The stress and linear buckling analysis were performed on the model. Furthermore the load caring capacity of foundation slab and subgrade were evaluated. The assessment of the structure was carried out according to Eurocode.
